In this piece is the absurd moment of running into something and for second being angry with the object run into. Gabriel  sees this as like a kind of remaining-yet-dead notion or feeling that objects themselves can be guilty and actively working for or against us. In the history of anthropology there might be many reasons, including witchcraft, that an object would do such a thing.

Gabriel´s work has the effect of creating challenges to and actually disarming the use of biography in attempts to interpret it. It provides narratives in which he exists unfixed in terms of person, place and thing. Embeha’s film and mixed media work developed out of years of alternative forms of ethnographic and historical experience.
